Man of Many Hats To Cook Roast Beef
And See Jazz Band Cooks as Well
)
Roast beef will be on the menu and swing band music on program Saturday, November 5 when the Mersey Band holds its fourth
annual fundraising dinner at the Branch #38 Royal Canadian Legion Hall, Liverpool.
Scott MacDonald-a man of considerable culinary talent- will be putting on his chef’s hat to season the roast beef with
his "special spices" and supervise preparation of the potatoes and "rustic fall vegetables."
Then, MacDonald, an Acadia University Music graduate, will take to the stage to lead his band through a repertoire of jazz,
rock, Mowtown and Latin tunes. The ensemble will be made up of senior players from the 37-member Mersey concert and marching
band.
This year’s fundraising event is of particular importance to the organization, as it is facing a financial shortfall
largely brought on by expenses incurred in operation of its youth music program.
